Hawkeyes are trailblazers-forging new paths, driving innovation, and shaping the future. This fall, we´re bringing that Hawkeye spirit to Denver, and you´re invited to an unforgettable evening of black-and-gold pride.
You´ll gain insights into the Together Hawkeyes campaign and plans to expand support for Iowa´s top scholars and researchers. You´ll also learn about other university happenings as you hear from Barbara Wilson, University of Iowa President; Sheila Baldwin, UI Center for Advancement President and CEO;and Payton Chapman, a recent UI graduate who served as Herky the Hawk on the Iowa Spirit Squads.
Hors d´oeuvres and a hosted bar will be provided.
Professional sports may be played on the field and the ice, but building a successful franchise takes much more than what happens during the game. From cultivating loyal fans and strengthening community connections to developing business strategies and creating memorable experiences, today’s sports organizations operate as sophisticated businesses and influential brands.
In this session, Tippie College of Business alumni Kyleigh Selepa, community relations manager for the Chicago White Sox, and Maria Copozzi, business strategy coordinator for the Columbus Blue Jackets, will take us behind the scenes of the sports industry. Drawing on their experiences in Major League Baseball and the National Hockey League, they’ll share the strategies, relationships, and decision-making that drive success beyond game day. With the fall season underway, join us for an inside look at the people and priorities behind the teams we love to watch.
You're invited to attend an in-person Industry Expert Talk featuring Tippie alumnus Steve Felice (BBA '79), followed by a reception on the University of Iowa campus in Iowa City.
Steve currently leads Felice Partners, LLC, where he advises and invests in businesses. He previously served as President and CEO of Filtration Group Corporation and spent 14 years at Dell, Inc., most recently as President and Chief Commercial Officer, leading a $57 billion global business. During his tenure, he successfully led both an IPO and a leveraged buyout.
You’ll gain insights from an executive who has led global businesses and have an opportunity to ask questions. This event also offers a chance to connect and network with fellow Tippie graduate students, as well as leadership and staff.
